| 09/06/2008 - Fundraiser for Tanzania |
| On Friday 13 June there is a fundraising Games Night at the church in order to help Mark Girvan and Rachel Buckley to raise funds for the Navigators trip to Tanzania and Uganda. Hopefully as many as possible will attend the evening although it unfortunately clashes with the football league dinner. |

| 23/05/2008 - Tanzania Fundraising Ceilidh |
For those of you not aware, James and myself are going to be travelling out with a group from the Navigators to Uganda and Tanzania for 3 and a bit weeks in July. While we are there we will be involved with some construction work, doing some youth work with the local school and orphanage and organising a Football tournament for the kids in Moshi, Tanzania. We will also be doing some bible teaching as well.
To raise funds, we're holding a ceilidh at the Scottish Piping Centre on the 30th of May. If any of you would like a ticket then please speak to either James of myself. They cost £7 for students or £10 for adults. |

| 10/05/2008 - Andy Murch Award Presentation. |
Despite a close defeat in the Atholl Cup semi-final, Saturday 10th of May was still a proud moment for TPHD. Gordon and Pete Murch, the father and brother of Andy Murch, were in attendance to present the Andrew Murch Memorial Trophy to last year's winners Matt Reid and Nick Cunvin-Smith.
They were given this honour for the commitment they had shown during last season's campaign. Both Matt and Nick were pivotal figures in dragging Possil off the bottom of the table and finishing a respectable 7th place. Matt started last season up front but has since taken up the position of 1st choice goalkeeper. Turning up week-in week-out for the club with an ever positive attitude, Matt was at every game and every training session. Nick has been Mr Reliable for Possil, taking up several positions in defence and midfield throughout the season. His versatility was essential, especially when the squad was small in size.
Gordon Murch spoke of how much Andy had enjoyed playing for Possil and that he would have loved the cup match, "though he would have hated the score" he admited. He also praised the attitude of the players and the way they conducted themselves on the pitch, saying that he was "delighted to present this [trophy], it's an honour". |
Matt & Nick received the award for their commitment last season. |

| 07/02/2008 - Dook re-signs for Possil |
| In a January transfer window devoid of any exciting moves, Possil made a last minute signing to liven things up a bit. The club has re-signed the towering central defender, Jamie Donaldson. "Dook" was an important figure in TPHD's revival in form last season but has been state-side for 6 months training to become a pilot. He is now back in Scotland to help push the club towards the 3rd Division title. |

| This is the Andrew Murch Trophy. His parents have commissioned it in his memory and it will be awarded at the end of each season to a member of the team who has shown commitment, dedication or other admirable attributes. I'm sure everyone will agree this is a fitting tribute to Andy. |

| 08/12/2007 - Church Magazine Report - Christmas 2007 |
|
Last Season saw TPHD return to churches league football after an absence of over a decade. Although Possil began slowly, a great run of form in the second half of the season saw them finish a respectable 7th place. If the team was to improve on this achievement and push for promotion, they would have to up their game.
The first fixture of the season could not have been any harder - an away tie against fellow title hopefuls Burnside. Despite a close encounter, Possil fell to a 3-1 defeat with Burnside scoring 2 goals in the last 15 minutes of the game. However the team has responded emphatically to this set back, going undefeated in their subsequent fixtures. Some memorable results have included a massive 11-2 win over West Glasgow, a resounding 6-2 victory over Auchenfoyle and a nail-biting 3-3 draw with East Kilbride Claremont. At the time of writing, Possil currently sit 3rd in their division with only 2 points separating them from the top spot.
The team’s success has not been confined to the league either. TPHD are also through to the quarter finals of the Fraser Trophy and are the only 3rd Division side still left in the competition. Along the way, Possil have recorded a delicious 6-3 victory over last years 3rd Division Champions St. Silas.
So this season is shaping up to be a good one for TPHD, if the team continues to produce these performances, they will undoubtedly be in with a chance of winning the league. The players would like to thank the congregation for their support and as we approach the Christmas period, the team will be remembering the Murch family whose son played for the team but sadly died in March. |
